Day 1: Arrival in Pondicherry & Promenade Sunset
Upon arrival at Chennai Airport in the morning (around 10:00 AM), you will be greeted and transferred to Pondicherry by road (approx. 160 km / 3–4 hrs). On arrival in the afternoon, check in to your hotel and relax after your journey. Later in the evening, step out to experience the charm of Rock Beach Promenade, where you can enjoy a peaceful walk by the sea, admire the Gandhi Statue, and take in the vibrant French colonial buildings of the French Quarter with their bougainvillea-draped facades. Witness a magical sunset by the seaside before returning to your hotel. Overnight stay in Pondicherry.
Day 2: The French & Tamil Cultural Mix
After breakfast, begin your day with a serene visit to the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a place of quiet reflection and meditation. Continue exploring the picturesque French Quarter (White Town) with its colonial architecture, colorful houses, and visit the French War Memorial and Pondicherry Museum. In the afternoon, cross into the vibrant Tamil Quarter (Heritage Town) and seek blessings at the historic Sri Manakula Vinayagar Temple dedicated to Lord Ganesha. Later, enjoy some leisurely shopping along Rue Dumas and Rue de la Caserne, known for handicrafts, incense, perfumes, and handmade paper. In the evening, take a boat ride from Chunnambar Boat House to reach Paradise Beach, where you can relax on golden sands and enjoy the tranquil backwaters. Day 3: Beaches, Auroville & Serenity
After breakfast, take a short drive to Auroville, the unique international township dedicated to peace and sustainable living. Visit the Matrimandir (outside viewing, advance booking required for inner chamber), an architectural marvel with its golden dome, and explore the visitor’s censer. In the afternoon, head to Auroville Beach or nearby Serenity Beach, both perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply unwinding by the shore. Spend quality beach time and soak in the natural beauty of the Coromandel Coast. Enjoy a relaxed breakfast at your hotel and check out. Begin your return drive to Chennai (approx. 160 km / 3–4 hrs). En route, you may pause at Covelong Beach (Kovalam) to enjoy the scenic beauty and later at Marina Beach in Chennai, one of the longest urban beaches in the world. Finally, you will be dropped at Chennai Airport by evening for your onward journey, carrying back fond memories of Pondicherry’s French charm, cultural treasures, and beachside serenity.
