Daringbadi (Kashmir of Odisha)

Daringbadi is a small, yet one of the unexplored hill stations of Odisha. Situated in Kandhamal district, at an altitude of 915 meters above the sea level, this hill station is known as the “Kashmir of Odisha” because of its breathtaking natural view and temperature. The only place in Odisha where snowfall happens during winter.

Out of the hustles and bustles of the city, this place is a perfect summer vacation destination for people who are adventurous and love to explore new places. The major attraction of this land; Doluri River, Putudi Waterfalls, Dasingbadi waterfalls, Badangia waterfalls, Dadubada Paradise, Ludu waterfalls, coffee plantation, black pepper and turmeric gardens, Hill view Park and many more. 

Mahendragiri 

Mahendragiri is the second highest peak, situated in the Gajapati district of Odisha. The spacious beauty from the peak of the mountain, the deep blue water of the Mahendratanaya river can make anyone fall in love with this majestic place.

There are three temples on the top of this mountain, named after the Pandava family (Kunti Temple, Bhima Temple, and Yudhistira Temple). Also, there is Gokarneswar Linga, in which whatever amount of water poured gets disappeared. If believed in the folk tale, Lord Parasurama used to meditate on this mountain. Fascinating! Isn’t it?

Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal is the perfect example of grandeur heritage. This hill station is located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level and is a must-visit place during summer. This place is surrounded by so many Hindu temples. Among all, the known “Kapilash Temple ” is the one that attracts tourists all the time. The temple was built in the old Kalinga style architecture. You need to climb 1352 steps to witness the divinity of this temple.

Apart from this,  nature has bestowed Dhenkanal with ample beauty. This hill station is surrounded by deep green forests, valleys, and rivers. If you are lucky, you may find a few tigers and elephants while taking a tour to this place.

Kiriburu

Another place in Odisha, which hasn’t got the limelight yet. Kiriburu is located in the Saranda forest, Keonjhar district and is known for its iron-ore mines. Due to its pleasant weather, it is famously known as The Shimla of Odisha. From rivers to valleys, this heaven on earth is a perfect place for people who love tracking and are always in search of new places to explore.
